Great Salvation, Our Savior.

           Great salvation

1 For this reason we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

2 When the word spoken by the angels proved true, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense.

3 How can we be saved if we ignore this great salvation?  Which was first spoken by the Lord and proved to us by the hearers

4 God also testified with them, according to his will, through signs and wonders, and through miracles and miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Our Savior

5 For he hath not subdued the world to come, whereof we speak.
6 But who is the man that testifieth, saying, What is man, that thou shouldest remember him?

7 Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels: thou hast set a crown of glory and honor upon his head.  You gave him authority over the works of your hands,

8 Thou hast subdued all things under his feet.  For he has put all things in subjection under him, and he has not forsaken them.  But so far we do not see everything under him.

9 But we see Jesus, who was made inferior to the angels for a short time, having been crowned with glory and honor for suffering death, that by the grace of God every man might taste of death.

10 For whom and by whom all things were accomplished, it was expedient that the Son of man should be glorified, that he might fill the Son of man with glory.

11 For he that sanctifieth, and they that are sanctified, are all of one.  That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers.

12 But he saith, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, and I will praise thee in the synagogues.

13 And then he says I will trust him.  And then, me and the children that God has given me.

14 For as the children are partakers of the flesh and of the flesh, so they themselves are partakers of them.

15 And deliver those who were held captive all their lives for fear of death.

16 For he helpeth not the angels, but the seed of Abraham.

17 That he should be like his brethren in all things, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God.

18 For when he himself was tempted and suffered, then he can help them that are tempted.

Invitation to Persevere

Invitation to Persevere

19 And so, brothers and sisters, we are completely free to enter the Most Holy Place.  We can do this without fear because of the blood of Christ. Hebrews 10:19

20 We can enter into the new way that Christ has opened for us.  This is a living path.  This new way leads through the veil, which is the body of Christ.

 Hebrews 10:20

21 And we have a great priest over the house of God.

 Hebrews 10:21

22 We are made pure and free from guilt.  And our bodies have been washed with pure water.  So come to God with a pure heart and with the trust of your faith.

 Hebrews 10:22

23 We must hold fast to the hope that we have.  And we should never lose sight of our hope.  We must be sure that God will do what He has promised.

 Hebrews 10:23

24 We should think about each other and encourage each other to show love and do good things.

 Hebrews 10:24

25 We must not stop meeting each other.  This is what some people are doing.  But we should encourage each other and do more because the day is approaching.

 Hebrews 10:25

26 If you continue to sin even after learning the truth, there is no sacrifice that can take away the sins of others.

 Hebrews 10:26

27 If we continue to sin, we have no choice but to fear the judgment of the resurrection and the fierce fire that will destroy all those who live against God.

 Hebrews 10:27

28 Anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was condemned on the basis of two or three testimonies.  That person was not forgiven.  He was killed.

 Hebrews 10:28

29 So what do you think should be done to a person who hates the Son of God?  That person must be severely punished.  Yes, that person should be severely punished because he did not treat the blood with which the new covenant begins.  That blood has made him holy.  And he must be severely punished because he has shown his hatred against the Spirit of God’s grace.

 Hebrews 10:29

30 We know that God said, “I will punish the people for their evil deeds.  I will answer them for what they did wrong. ”  And God also said, “The Lord will judge his people.”

 Hebrews 10:30

31 It would be terrible for a sinner to fall into the hands of the living God.

 Hebrews 10:31

32 Remember the first days when you first came to know the truth.  You had to endure many hardships, but you remained strong.

 Hebrews 10:32

33 Sometimes people said hateful things to you and persecuted you in front of many people.  And sometimes you helped other people who were once treated the same way.

 Hebrews 10:33

34 Yes, you have helped those who were taken captive, and you have shared their suffering.  And when all your possessions were taken away from you, you rejoiced.  You were happy because you knew you had something better that would last forever.

 Hebrews 10:34

35 So don’t be discouraged by what you kept in the past.  You will receive a great reward for your courage.

 Hebrews 10:35

36 You must be patient.  Then, after you have done what God wants you to do, you will have what God promised.

 Hebrews 10:36

37 For yet a little while, and he that cometh shall come, and shall not tarry.

 Hebrews 10:37

38 He that is just with me shall receive life in his faith: but if he shall return with fear, I will not be pleased with him.

 Hebrews 10:38

39 But we are not the ones who have turned away and gone astray.  No  We are the people who have faith and are saved.

 Hebrews 10:39

Test the Spirits, God is love.

Test the spirits

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 That ye may know the Spirit of God.  Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye heard that it should come;

4 Little children, ye are of God, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

5 They are of the world, therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them.

6 We are from God.  He who knows God listens to us.  He that is not of God heareth not us.  From this we get to know the spirit of truth and the spirit of deception.

 God is love

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

9 For the love of God is manifest in us, that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

10 This is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

12 No one has ever seen God.  If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

13 He hath given us of his Spirit, that we might know that we abide in him, and he in us.

14 We have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

16 And we have known and believed the love of God which he has shown us.  God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

17For love is made perfect in us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear: for fear hath torment: and he that feareth is not perfected in love.

19 We love because he first loved us.

20 If any man say, I love God, and hateth my brother, he is a liar: because he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, he loveth not God whom he hath not seen.  Can

21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
