God is Love

7 Dear friends, we must love one another.  Because love comes from God.  He that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
1 John 4: 7

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
1 John 4: 8

9 This is the way God showed us his love;  God sent his only begotten Son into the world to give us life through him.
1 John 4: 9

10 This is love;  It is not that we first loved God;  This is the God who first loved us.  And God sent his Son as a way by which God can take away our sins.
1 John 4:10

11 Dear friends, look at how much God loves us.  That is why we should love one another.
1 John 4:11

12 No one has ever seen God.  But if we love one another, God dwelleth in us.  And thus this love has become perfect within us.
1 John 4:12

13 We know that we dwell in God, and he lives in us.  We know this because God has given us his Spirit.
1 John 4:13

14 We have seen that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.  And that’s what we’re telling people.
1 John 4:14

15 If any man say, I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him.  And that person lives in God.
1 John 4:15

16 And so we know the love that God has for us.  And we believe in that love. God is love.  He who lives in love abides in God.  And God lives in that person.
1 John 4:16

17 If we have the love of God perfect in us, we will not be afraid on the day of judgment.  We will be fearless because we are the same in this world as he is.
1 John 4:17

18 Where there is love of God, there is no fear.  Why?  Because perfect love of God removes fear.  It is God’s punishment that makes people afraid.  Therefore the love of God is not perfect in him.
1 John 4:18

19 We love because God first loved us.
1 John 4:19

20 If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother or sister, he is a liar.  For if he does not love his brother whom he sees, it is not possible for him to love God whom he cannot see.
1 John 4:20

21 This is what God has commanded us;  He that loveth God loveth his brother also.
1 John 4:21

Message to Elders and youth, Last Greetings.

     Message to Elders and youth

1 I beseech you the elders which are among you, and the elders that are with you, and the witnesses of the sufferings of Christ, and the fellowship in the shining light,

2 That you should shepherd the flock of God which is in you, but not with weakness, but willingly, according to the will of God, and not according to the will of the heart.

3 And call upon those that are under you, that ye may be the example of the flock

4 Then when the chief shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of glory that does not wither.

5 In the same way, young men, be in subjection to the elders, but be humble toward one another, serving God, for God opposes the haughty, but gives grace to the humble.

6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time

7 And cast thy burden upon him; for he careth for thee

8 Beware, Awake! Your adversary, the Devil, is like a roaring lion, seeking to devour someone.

9 Be strong in your faith and face it, knowing that your brothers and sisters in the world are going through the same ordeal.

10 And the Most Gracious God, who called you into Christ for his everlasting glory, will make you perfect, upholding, and strengthening you, after you have suffered a little while.

11 To him be the glory forever and ever.  Amen.

Last greetings

12 And I have written unto you in the letter of Silvanus, my faithful brother, and in the epistle that ye testify that this is the true grace of God, wherein ye stand.

13 In Babylon the chosen one with you and my son Mark greet you.

14 Greet one another with a holy kiss. Peace be to you all who are in Christ Jesus.

Good Servant and Good Example of Jesus Christ.

Good Servant and Good Example of Jesus Christ.

6 Tell these things to your brothers and sisters there.  It will prove that you are a true servant of Christ Jesus.  You will prove that you have been strengthened by the words of faith and the true teachings that you have followed.
1 Timothy 4: 6

7 People tell foolish stories that have nothing to do with God’s truth.  Don’t follow those stories.  But prepare yourself to be a true servant of God.
1 Timothy 4: 7

8 Your physical exercise helps you in some way.  But God’s service helps you in every way.  Serving God also promises blessings for your present life and future life.
1 Timothy 4: 8

9 What I am saying is true and you must accept it completely.
1 Timothy 4: 9

10 That is why we work and struggle;  We hope in the living God.  He is the Savior of all people.  Especially those who believe in him.
1 Timothy 4:10

11 Command and teach these things.
1 Timothy 4:11

12 You are young, but don’t let anyone treat you as if you were not important.  Be an example to them in your speech, in your way of life, in your love, in your faith and in your holy life.
1 Timothy 4:12

13 Teach the people the scripture, strengthen them, and teach them.  Do these things until I come.
1 Timothy 4:13

14 Remember to use the gift you have.  This gift was given to you through a prophetic word when the elders laid their hands on you.
1 Timothy 4:14

15 Keep doing these things.  Dedicate your life to doing these things.  Then everyone will see that your spiritual life is progressing.
1 Timothy 4:15

16 Focus on your life and teachings.  Continue to teach and live the right way.  Then you can save yourself and those who listen to your teachings.
