The Rest of God’s People

8 We know that Joshua did not lead the people into rest as God promised.  We know this because later God spoke of another day of rest, “today.”

11 So let us work hard to enter into that rest.  We should try in such a way that none of us loses rest by following their example like those who were not obedient.
Hebrews 4:11

12 The Word of God is alive and working.  His word is sharper than a sharp sword.  The Word of God penetrates deep into us, even where the soul and the spirit meet.  God’s Word strikes at our joints and bones.  It determines the thoughts and intentions of our heart.
