Last salute – prayer and blessing

7 Tychicus, a beloved brother in Christ. He is a faithful servant, working with me in the Lord. He will tell you all about me. Which are happening to me.
Colossians 4: 7

8 That is why I am sending him to you. I want you to know what we are talking about. And I am sending him to you for this very purpose.
Colossians 4: 8

9 I am sending him with Onesimus. He is a faithful and dear brother to us. He is one of your group. Tychicus and Onesimus will tell you everything that happened here.
Colossians 4: 9

10 Greetings from Aristarchus. He is in prison with me. Greetings also from Mark, Barnabas’ cousin. I have already given you instructions about him. When he comes, welcome him.
Colossians 4:10

11 Jesus, also called Justus, sends greetings. These are the only Jewish believers who are working with me for God’s Kingdom. They are a source of comfort to me.
Colossians 4:11

12 Epaphras also greets you. He is one of your group and one of Christ Jesus’ servants. He always prays earnestly to God for all of you so that you may grow spiritually and receive all that God wants you to have.
Colossians 4:12

13 I know he has worked hard for you and for the people of Laodicea and Hierapolis.
Colossians 4:13

14 Demas and our dear friend the physician Luke, send greetings.
Colossians 4:14

15 Greet the brothers and sisters in Laodicea. Greet Numphas and the church that is at his house.
Colossians 4:15

16 And when this epistle is read among you, make sure that it be read to the church of Laodicea. And you also read the letter I wrote to the church in Laodicea.
Colossians 4:16

17 Say to Archippus, “Do what the Lord has given you to do.”
Colossians 4:17

18 I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand. Remember that I am in prison. The grace of God be with you.
Colossians 4:18

Listen to and keep the word

19 My dear brothers and sisters, always be more willing to listen than to speak. Don’t get angry too soon.
James 1:19

20 A person’s anger does not help him to live a good life according to God’s will.
James 1:20

21 So put away all evil from your life and all the evil that you do. Be humble and accept God’s teaching that has been planted in your Hirda. This teaching can save you.
James 1:21

22 Do what God tells you to do. Don’t just listen and act. Why? Because when you sit and listen, you are fooling yourself.
James 1:22

23 For if any man hear the word of God, and do not do it, he is a sinner; He is like the man who looks at his face in the mirror.
James 1:23

24 The man looks at himself, then walks away and soon forgets what he looked like.
James 1:24

25 But the man who is truly happy is the one who reads God’s perfect law that sets people free. He keeps reading it. He listens carefully to God’s teachings without forgetting what he has heard. Then he obeys God’s teachings. Through him, he is truly happy.
James 1:25

26 Even if a person thinks he is righteous, but if he says what he should not say, he is fooling himself. What does his religion mean?
James 1:26

27 This is the kind of religion God wants; Raising orphans and widows who need help, and keeping themselves free from worldly influences. This is the religion that God accepts as pure and holy.
James 1:27

Food offered to idols

1 Now I will write about the meat of the sacrifice that is offered to idols. We know that “we all have knowledge.” Knowledge fills you with pride. But love helps you to be stronger than others.
1 Corinthians 8: 1

2 A person who thinks he knows something does not know what he should know.
1 Corinthians 8: 2

3 But he that loveth God knoweth him;
1 Corinthians 8: 3

4 Wherefore I say unto them, This is the law of the flesh: for we know that idolatry is nothing in the world. We also know that there is one and only God.
1 Corinthians 8: 4

5 It doesn’t really matter that some things on earth and in the sky are called gods. Many people call such things “gods” or “lords.”
1 Corinthians 8: 5

6 But we have only one God. He is our Father. Everything has come from Him and we live for Him alone. There is only one Lord. He is Jesus Christ. All things are created through him, and we also live through him.
1 Corinthians 8: 6

7 But not all people know this. Some people still have the habit of worshiping idols. So when they eat this meat, they feel like it belongs to an idol. They don’t know if it’s okay to eat this meat. So when they eat this meat, they think they are doing something wrong.
1 Corinthians 8: 7

8 But food does not bring us closer to God. By not eating meat, we do not lose anything or by eating, we do not gain anything.
1 Corinthians 8: 8

9 But be careful about your freedom. Your own faith can make people weak.
1 Corinthians 8: 9

10 You have understanding, so you feel free to eat in the temple of idols. A person with weak faith may see you eating there. This will also encourage him to eat the meat offered to the idols. But he actually misunderstands it.
1 Corinthians 8:10

11 So this weak brother can be destroyed because of your knowledge. And Christ was sacrificed for this brother.
1 Corinthians 8:11

12 When you cause your brothers and sisters in Christ to do something that they think is wrong, you are sinning against them and you are hurting them. Then you are also sinning against Christ.
1 Corinthians 8:12

13 Therefore I will never again eat the flesh that I have caused my brother to fall into sin. I will stop eating meat so that I will not let my brother and sister fall into sin.
1 Corinthians 8:13
