Encouragement and exhortation

2 I beseech Euodia and Syntyche to agree with one another, because ye are of God.

Don’t blame others for Christian behavior

1 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged.
Matthew 7: 1

2 If you judge others, you will be judged in the same way. And you will be measured by the measure by which you are measured.

3 “How can you see a speck of dust in your brother’s eye when you do not see the beam in your eye?

4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me take the speck of dust out of thine eye, when thou hast yet a beam in thine own eye?

5 You hypocrites, first take the beam out of your eye, then you can see clearly how to get that particle out.

Jesus and the beloved disciple

20 Peter turned around and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved dearly was following him. This is the disciple who bowed down to Jesus at supper and said, “Lord, who will betray you?”
John 21:20

21 When Peter saw the disciple following him, he asked Jesus, “Lord, what do you think about this? What will happen to it? ”
John 21:21

22 Jesus answered, “If I want him to live until I come, what is that to you? You follow me. ”
John 21:22

23 And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land. They were saying that this disciple whom Jesus loved so much would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die. It actually said, “If I want to live until I come, what about you?”
