Instructions for leaders

17 Elders who lead the congregation well are worthy of great honor. Those who work through great speech and teaching are people who are yogis of great honor.
1 Timothy 5:17

18 For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And the scripture saith, The laborer is worthy of his hire.
1 Timothy 5:18

19 Don’t listen to the one who accuses an old man. You should only listen to that person if two or three people testify that the elder has done something wrong.
1 Timothy 5:19

20 Tell sinners that they are doing wrong. Say this in front of the whole congregation. In this way, others will be warned.
1 Timothy 5:20

21 I command you to do these things before God, Jesus Christ, and the chosen angels. But don’t judge people before you know the truth. And treat everyone the same about these things.
1 Timothy 5:21

22 Think carefully before making a person an elder. Do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself clean.
1 Timothy 5:22

23 Timothy, you have been drinking only water. Leave it at that. It will be good for your stomach and your frequent illnesses.
1 Timothy 5:23

24 The sins of some people are easy to see. Their sins show that they are guilty before their true judgment. But some people’s sins are visible later.
1 Timothy 5:24

25 So it is with the good works of men. People’s good deeds are quickly seen. Although those good deeds are not easy to see, they cannot remain hidden.
1 Timothy 5:25

Keep moving forward towards God

12 I do not mean that I have already become exactly as God intended me to be. I haven’t reached the goal yet. But I am constantly struggling to reach that goal. That is why Christ Jesus made me his own.
Philippians 3:12

13 Brothers and sisters, I know that I have not yet reached my destination. But there is one thing I always do; I have forgotten the past and I am trying hard to reach the destination that is in front of me.
Philippians 3:13

14 I am constantly striving to reach the destination and win the prize for which God is calling us to heaven through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:14

15 All of us who have grown up spiritually should think the same way. But if you do not agree with any of these things, God will make it clear to you.
Philippians 3:15

16 In any case we must continue to walk in the path of truth that we have been following so far.
Philippians 3:16

17 Brothers and sisters, follow my example. Observe the people who follow our example closely. As we show you the way. Follow them.
Philippians 3:17

18 Many people live like enemies of the cross of Christ. I have told you about such people many times. And now as I talk about them, I start to cry.
Philippians 3:18

19 The way they live is the way that leads to destruction. Their hunger is their God. They are proud of the things they should be ashamed of. They think only of worldly things.
Philippians 3:19

20 But our homeland is in heaven. We are waiting for our Savior to come down from heaven. Our Savior is the Lord Jesus Christ.
Philippians 3:20

21 Christ will change our physical bodies like his glorious body. He will do this with the power by which he is able to control everything.
Philippians 3:21

Definite life to the Lord

17 But let every man abide in the same life which God hath ordained for him. This means that he must live in the condition in which God called him. This is the principle I have made in all the churches.
1 Corinthians 7:17

18 For if a man be circumcised in the flesh, he shall not be circumcised in the flesh. If a person is not circumcised at the time of calling, he should not be circumcised.
1 Corinthians 7:18

19 It doesn’t matter if a person is circumcised or not. The important thing is to obey God’s commands.
1 Corinthians 7:19

20 Let every man abide in the calling of God.
1 Corinthians 7:20

21 If you were a slave when the Lord called you, don’t worry about it, but if you can be free, be free.
1 Corinthians 7:21

22 The man who was a slave when the Lord called him is now free in the Lord. In the same way, the man who was free when God called him is now a slave of Christ.
1 Corinthians 7:22

23 You were bought at a high price. So don’t be slaves to men.
1 Corinthians 7:23

24 Brothers and sisters, live your new life with God the way you were living when God called you.
1 Corinthians 7:24
