Thanksgiving Prayer

1 Thou hast delivered me out of my distresses.  You did not allow my enemies to defeat me and laugh at me.  So I will show you respect.
Psalm 30: 1

2 My Lord God, I prayed to you.  And you healed me.
Psalm 30: 2

3 You raised me from the grave.  You let me live.  I did not have to lie down with the dead.
Psalm 30: 3

4 Sing unto the LORD, ye disciples of God.  Praise his holy name.
Psalm 30: 4

5 God was angry, so the decision was “death.”  But he showed his love, and he gave me the “blessing of life.”  At night I lay down crying.  The next morning, I was happy and singing.
Psalm 30: 5

6 When I was safe and secure, I thought no one could hurt me.
Psalm 30: 6

7 Yes, Lord, when you were kind to me.  I felt like nothing could beat me.  But when you turned away from me, I was afraid and trembled with fear.
Psalm 30: 7

8 Therefore, O God, I prayed to Thee on earth.  I asked you to have mercy on me.
Psalm 30: 8

9 I said, “What good is it, O God, that I should die and be buried in the grave? Only the dead lie in the dust? They don’t praise you. They don’t tell people how much we can depend on you.”  .

10 Hear my prayer, Yahweh, and have mercy on me.  Help me, Lord. “

11 I prayed and you helped me.  You turned my crying into dancing.  You took off my sad clothes.  And you covered me with joy.
Psalm 30:11

12 I will praise thee, O LORD my God for ever: therefore there shall never be any silence, and there shall be ever a song of honor to thee.
Psalm 30:12
