1 Praise the Lord! The man who fears and honors the Lord will be very happy. He loves God’s commandments.

2 Her offspring will be earthly and great. The offspring of good people will be truly blessed.

4 For good people, God is like a light shining in the dark. God is good, kind, and merciful.

5 It is good for a man to be kind and generous. It is good for a single person to be impartial in their work.

6 That person will never fall. A good person will be remembered forever.

7 He will not be remembered for bad news. He is a firm believer because he trusts in Jehovah.

8 He is a firm believer, he will not be afraid. He will defeat his enemies.

9 He gives generously to the poor. And his goodness will last forever.

10 The wicked see it and become angry. They will gnash their teeth in anger, but then they will disappear. Immoral people will never get what they want.
