
1 Then Job answered, “I have heard
Job 16: 1
2 About these things already. All three of you are bothering me, not resting.
Job 16: 2
3 Your long speeches never end. Why are you arguing?
Job 16: 3
4 If your sorrows were like mine, I could tell you the same things. I could shake my head at you for saying wise things against you.
Job 16: 4
5 But I could encourage you and give you hope in my words.
Job 16: 5
6 But what I say does not relieve my pain, nor does silence help.
Job 16: 6
7 Truly, O God, you have taken away my strength. You have destroyed my whole family.
Job 16: 7
8 You have made me thin and weak, and people think I am guilty.
Job 16: 8
9 He is wroth with me, he is angry with me, he breaketh my flesh. God is gnashing his teeth against me. My enemy is staring at me with hatred.

10 people gathered around me. They make fun of me and slap me in the face.

11 God has given me over to wicked people. He has hurt me from bad people.

12 Everything was fine with me, but then God crushed me. Yes, he grabbed me by the neck and tore me to pieces. God used me to shoot.

13 The arrows of God shoot arrows at me from all sides. He shows no mercy. He pours out my bile on the earth.

14 God attacks me again and again. He breaks down like a soldier in battle.

15 I am very sad, so I wear these clothes of sadness. I am sitting in the ashes and ashes and I feel defeated.

16 My face is red with weeping. Dark circles around my eyes.

17 I have never been cruel to anyone, but these bad things happened to me. My prayers are pure and righteous.

18 The earth did not hide the evil things that were done to me. Don’t let anyone stop my pleas for fairness.

19 Even now there is someone in heaven who will speak for me. There is someone above who will testify for me.

20 My friend is speaking for me while my eyes are weeping before God.

21 He is speaking to God for me, as a man testifies to his friend.

22 In just a short time, I will go where no one returns.
