Healing the possessed

26 Then Jesus and his disciples came across the lake to the country of Girsenia, which is opposite Galilee.
Luke 8:26

27 When Jesus got off the boat, a man from the city who had a demon came to him. For a long time he neither wore any clothes nor lived in a house, but lived in a cemetery.
Luke 8:27

28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out with a loud voice and fell at his feet and cried out in a loud voice, “O Jesus! Son of the Most High God, what do you want from me? I beg you please don’t hurt me!” He said this because Jesus commanded the evil spirit to leave the man’s body. The demon had possessed that man several times. On such occasions, even though his feet and hands were chained and kept in prison, he would break the chains and the demon would force him to go to deserted places.

29 Because he was ordering the unclean spirit to come out of the man, the evil spirit that kept coming into him. Many times people would keep him under guard with chains and shackles but he would break the bonds. The evil spirit chased him in the wilderness.

30 Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” The man answered, “Army,” because he was possessed by many demons.

31 The demons begged Jesus not to send them into the abyss of darkness.
Luke 8:31

32 A large herd of pigs was grazing on that hill, and the demons begged Jesus to let them enter the pigs. So Jesus gave them permission.
Luke 8:32

33 The demons came out of the man and entered the pigs. Then the whole herd of pigs ran down the slope from the top of the hill and fell into the lake. All the pigs drowned.

34 When the swineherds saw all this, they fled from there and reported this news to all the people who were in the fields and cities.

35 And when the people went out to see all this, they came to Jesus and found the man sitting at Jesus’ feet. Now the man was groomed and his mind was right because the demons had left him.

36 Seeing all this, the people were terrified. Those who had seen how Jesus had comforted him explained to others how Jesus had healed the man.

37 Then all the people of the region of Girsenia begged Jesus to go away from there, because they were all very afraid. So Jesus got into the boat and returned to Galilee.

38 The man whom he had healed begged to go with Jesus.
Luke 8:38

39 But Jesus sent the man away, saying, “Go back to your house and tell the people what God has done for you.” So the man went throughout the city and told what Jesus had done for him. .

Jesus heals the demon-possessed people of Gorasoni

27 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the city a man possessed with a devil, For a long time he did not wear any clothes or stay at home, but lived in the cemetery.

29 Because he was commanding the unclean spirit to come out of the man, because the demon was coming in him again and again. Many times people would keep him in chains with chains and shackles but he would break the bonds. Evil spirits haunted him in the wilderness.

36 When the people saw this, they were terrified. And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was healed.
Luke 8:36

37 And all the multitude of the surrounding country of the Gadarenes asked him to depart from them: for they were all afraid.

38 The man who had been healed begged Jesus to go with him.
Luke 8:38

39 But Jesus sent the man away, saying, “Let him return to his house and tell the people what God has done for you.” So the man went around the city and told what Jesus had done for him. .

Invitation to Persevere

19 And so, brothers and sisters, we are completely free to enter the Most Holy Place. We can do this without fear because of the blood of Christ.

20 We can enter into the new way that Christ has opened for us. This is a living path. This new way leads through the veil, which is the body of Christ.

25 We must not stop meeting each other. This is what some people are doing. But we should encourage each other and do more because the day is approaching.

26 If you continue to sin even after learning the truth, there is no sacrifice that can take away the sins of others.

27 If we continue to sin, we have no choice but to fear the judgment of the resurrection and the fierce fire that will destroy all those who live against God.

28 Anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was condemned on the basis of two or three testimonies. That person was not forgiven. He was killed.

29 So what do you think should be done to a person who hates the Son of God? That person must be severely punished. Yes, that person should be severely punished because he did not treat the blood with which the new covenant begins. That blood has made him holy. And he must be punished severely because he has shown his hatred against the Spirit of God’s grace.

30 We know that God said, “I will punish the people for their evil deeds. I will answer them for what they did wrong. ” And God also said, “The Lord will judge his people.”

31 It would be terrible for a sinner to fall into the hands of the living God.

32 Remember the first days when you first came to know the truth. You had to endure many hardships, but you remained strong.

33 Sometimes people said hateful things to you and persecuted you in front of many people. And sometimes you helped other people who were once treated the same way.

34 Yes, you have helped those who were taken captive, and you have shared their suffering. And when all your possessions were taken away from you, you rejoiced. You were happy because you knew you had something better that would last forever.

35 So don’t be discouraged by what you kept in the past. You will receive a great reward for your courage.

36 You must be patient. Then, after you have done what God wants you to do, you will have what God promised.

37 For yet a little while, and he that cometh shall come, and shall not tarry.
Hebrews 10:37

38 He that is just with me shall receive life in his faith: but if he shall return, I will not be pleased with him.
Hebrews 10:38

39 But we are not the ones who have turned away and gone astray. No We are the people who have faith and are saved.
