Paul’s Prayer

15 For this cause I also heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and of the love which is for all saints.

16 I do not cease to thank you constantly and to remember in prayer!

17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of knowledge and revelation in all his knowledge;

18 That the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, that you may know what is expected of him when he is called, and what is the priceless treasure of his glorious inheritance among the saints!

19 Great is his power to our believers! All this is according to the application of his great power

20 What he did in Christ when he raised him from the dead and placed his right hand in the heavenly places!

21 He is above every government, authority, power, state, and every name that we take not only in this age but also in the age to come!

22 And having done all these things under his feet, and having rested his head on all things, he gave them to the church.

23 This is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all!

Jesus and the beloved disciple

20 Peter turned around and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved dearly was following him. This is the disciple who bowed down to Jesus at supper and said, “Lord, who will betray you?”
John 21:20

21 When Peter saw the disciple following him, he asked Jesus, “Lord, what do you think about this? What will happen to it? ”
John 21:21

22 Jesus answered, “If I want him to live until I come, what is that to you? You follow me. ”
John 21:22

23 And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land. They were saying that this disciple whom Jesus loved so much would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die. It actually said, “If I want to live until I come, what about you?”
John 21:23

Christ first and foremost

15 No man can see God, but Jesus is like God. He is the ruler of all things that are created.
Colossians 1:15

16 All things in the heavens and on the earth, visible and invisible, thrones and authorities, rulers and powers, are made by him and for him.
Colossians 1:16

17 Christ was here before anything was created, and because of him all things exist.
Colossians 1:17

18 Christ is the head of the body. That is the church. All things come from him. And the one who was raised from the dead is the most important of all.
Colossians 1:18

19 It was God’s pleasure to live completely in Christ.
Colossians 1:19

20 Through Christ, God wanted to bring all things back to him, on earth and in heaven. God reconciled all things through the blood of Christ, which was shed on the cross.
Colossians 1:20

21 In the past, you were far away from God. You were his enemy in your mind and heart. Your immorality proved to be true.
Colossians 1:21

22 But now Christ has made you friends with God again. Christ did this when he was in the flesh. Christ did this so that he could bring you before God, holy, blameless, without blame.
Colossians 1:22

23 Christ will do this so that you will continue to believe the Good News that you have heard. This is possible only if you continue to be strong in your faith and do not give up the hope that the gospel has given you. This good news has been preached to all the peoples of the world. That I, Paul, have become his servant.
Colossians 1:23
