Persecution for doing good

8 To conclude, I tell you, you must live in peace with one another. Try to understand each other, love each other as brothers and sisters. Be kind and humble.
1 Peter 3: 8

9 Do not do evil to anyone who does evil to you. Or do not speak ill of those who speak ill of you. But bless that person, because you were also called by God to receive blessings.

The Scriptures say, “Whoever wants to live a happy life and have a good day, let him keep his tongue from speaking evil, and his lips from speaking lies.

11 He must find peace and work hard to achieve it.

12 The Lord beholdeth the righteous, and the Lord heareth their prayer: but the Lord is against them that do iniquity.

13 If you work hard to do good, no one will hurt you.

14 When you do what is good, you may suffer. If that happens then you are blessed. “Don’t be afraid of people who threaten you and don’t be upset.”

15 Rather, sanctify Christ as Lord in your life. Always be prepared to answer anyone who asks you to explain the hope you have.
1 Peter 3:15

16 But answer them with kindness and respect. You should always be able to feel that you are doing the right thing. If you do this, those people who speak badly about your good life in Christ will be ashamed.

17 It is better to suffer for good than for evil, if that is what God wills.
1 Peter 3:17

18 Christ also suffered and died for sins once. He did not sin, but he died for all people. He did not sin. He did this to bring us all closer to God. His body died, but he lived in his spirit.

19 Then in the spirit he went and preached to the spirits in prison.

20 These are the same spirits who refused to obey God in Noah’s day. When Noah was building the ark. God was patiently waiting for them. Only a handful of eight people were rescued from the water by boat.
1 Peter 3:20

21 That water was like the baptism that saves you now. Baptism is not about removing dirt from the body, but about asking God for a pure heart. It saves you because Jesus Christ was raised from the dead.
1 Peter 3:21

22 Now Jesus has gone to heaven. And sits at the right hand of God. He rules over angels, authorities, and powers.
1 Peter 3:22

ᴡᴀʀɴɪɴɢ ꜰʀᴏᴍ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪꜱᴛᴏʀy ᴏꜰ ɪꜱʀᴀᴇʟ

1 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of my Father which is in Israel, All of them were under the cloud and all walked through the sea.
1 Corinthians 10: 1

2 Moses baptized them in the clouds and in the sea.

3 They all ate the same spiritual food.
1 Corinthians 10: 3

4 And they all drank the same spiritual water. From the spiritual rock that was with them. That rock was Christ.

5 But God was not pleased with most of them. They were killed in the desert.
1 Corinthians 10: 5

6 And these things that happened are examples for us. We should learn from these examples that we should not be tempted to do bad things like those people.
1 Corinthians 10: 6

7 You must not worship idols, as some of them have done. As it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink. They got up to dance. ”
1 Corinthians 10: 7

8 We must not commit sexual immorality like some of them. One of them in a day because of their sins
1 Corinthians 10: 8

9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted God; They died from the sting of the serpent because they tried God.
1 Corinthians 10: 9

10 Don’t complain like many of them did. So those people were destroyed by the angel of death.
1 Corinthians 10:10

11 What happened to those people is an example for us. These things are written to warn us. We are living in the last days of history.
1 Corinthians 10:11

12 Therefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
1 Corinthians 10:12

13 Every man has the same encouragement that you have. But you can trust God. He will not let you test more than you can bear. But when you are tempted, God will also give you a way out of that temptation. Then you will be able to bear it.
1 Corinthians 10:13

14 Therefore, my dear friends, stay away from idolatry.
1 Corinthians 10:14

15 I speak to you as wise men; Judge for yourselves what I say.

16 The cup of blessing for which we give thanks and drink; Does it not make us share in the blood of Christ? And the bread which we break and eat, does it not make us share in the body of Christ?

17 There is one bread, and although we are many, we are all one body, for we all share that one bread.

18 Think of the people of Israel. Don’t those who eat the meat of the sacrifice share in the altar?

19 I do not mean that the meat sacrificed to idols is important, nor do I mean that idols are important.
1 Corinthians 10:19

20 But I say that the things which are offered to idols are not offered to God, but to demons. And I don’t want you to be associated with demons.
1 Corinthians 10:20

21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons at the same time. You cannot share the table of the Lord and the table of demons.
1 Corinthians 10:21

22 Do we want to make the Lord jealous? Are we stronger than he? No
