Empty tomb

1 On the first day of the week, at dawn, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb where Jesus’ body lay. It was still dark. He saw that the stone that had covered the tomb had been removed.
John 20: 1

2 And Mary ran, and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved. He said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.”
John 20: 2

3 Then Peter and the other disciple started walking towards the tomb.
John 20: 3

4 And they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulcher.
John 20: 4

5 And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; but he went not in.
John 20: 5

6 And Simon Peter followed him, and entering into the tomb, he saw linen clothes lying there.
John 20: 6

7 He saw the linen cloths that were wrapped around Jesus’ head. And he had folded the cloth and was lying on one side away from the linen cloth.
John 20: 7

8 Then the other disciple also came in. This was the disciple who had come to the tomb before Peter. When he saw all this, he believed.
John 20: 8

9 The disciples still did not understand what was written in the Scriptures, that Jesus should rise from the dead.
John 20: 9

10 Then the disciples went home. Mary was still crying outside the tomb.

1 I will continue to boast, even though it is of no use. But now I will talk about visions and lights from the Lord.

2 I know a man in Christ who was taken up to the third heaven. That was about fourteen years ago. I don’t know if that man went into the body or without the body. But God knows.

5 I will boast about such a person. But I will not brag about myself. I will only brag about my weaknesses.

6 Though I would boast of myself, yet I would not be foolish, for I would be telling the truth. But I should not brag about myself. Why? Because I don’t want them to think too much of what they see or hear me say.

7 But I must not boast so much of the strange things that were shown to me, so I was given a painful problem. The problem was; An angel was sent to me by Satan to beat me so that I would not be proud.

8 I begged the Lord three times to take care of me.

9 But the Lord said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you. When you are weak, let all my strength be shown to you. ” That is why I am happy to brag about my weaknesses. Then the power of Christ can dwell in me.

10 So when I am weak I am happy. I am happy when people speak ill of me. When I go through hardships, I feel happy. When people punish me, I feel happy. And I am happy when I face problems. All these things are for Christ. And I am happy with these things because when I am weak then I am really strong.

The priesthood of Melchizedek

1 Melchizedek was the king of Salem and the priest of the Most High God. While Abraham was returning from defeating the kings, Melchizedek met Abraham. That day Melchizedek blessed Abraham.
Hebrews 7: 1

2 And Abraham gave tithes of all that he had unto Melchizedek. First, Melchizedek means “King of Goodness,” and “King of Salem” means “King of Peace.”

3 “No one knows who Melchizedek’s parents are or where he came from.” And no one knows when he was born or when he died. Melchizedek was like a son of God, and he continues to be a priest forever.

4 You can see that Melchizedek was great. Abraham, a great father, gave Melchizedek one-tenth of everything he won in battle.

5 Now the law says that the people who become priests from the family of Levi should get tithes from the people. The priests collect it from their people, even though the priests and those people were from Abraham’s family.

6 Melchizedek was not from the family of Levi. But he received tithes from Abraham. And he blessed Abraham – the man who had God’s promises.

7 And everyone knows that the more important person blesses the less important person.

8 These priests receive tithes, but they are human, living and dying. But Melchizedek, who received tithes from Abraham, lives forever according to the Scriptures.

9 This is the Levite who collects tithes from the people. But we can say that when Abraham gave tithes to Melchizedek, the Levites also gave tithes to him.

10 Levi was not yet born. But when Melchizedek met Abraham, Levi was still in the body of his ancestor Abraham.
