1 My dear friends, there are many false prophets in the world. So don’t believe everyone who says he has God’s Spirit. Instead, return them to see that the Spirit they have is really from God.
1 John 4: 1
2 In this way, you can recognize God’s spirit. One spirit says, “I believe that Jesus is the Christ who came to earth in human form.” Such a spirit is from God.

3 And the other Spirit, which denies the truth about Jesus, is not from God. This spirit belongs to the enemy of Christ. You have heard that the Antichrist is coming. In fact, he has already come into the world.

4 My dear children, you belong to God. So you have defeated these false teachers. Why? For the one who is within you is greater than the one who is in the world.

5 These false teachers belong to the world. So what they say is from the world, and the world listens to what they say.

6 But we are from God. So those who know God listen to us, but those who are not from God do not listen to us. This is how we know the true spirit and the deceitful spirit.
