Thanksgiving prayer

8 First of all, I thank my God through Jesus Christ my Lord for all of you, because your faith is being talked about all over the world.

9 For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit with the gospel of his Son, how I always remember you in my prayers;

10 And I always pray that somehow, after a long time, I will come to you safely, by God’s will.

11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;

12 That is, that we may be comforted both by faith and by faith in each other.

13 And I would not that ye should be ignorant, brethren, how many times I have desired to come unto you, that, as I have borne fruit among the Gentiles, I also have borne fruit among you. Released

14 I am indebted to the Greeks and Gentiles, to the wise and to the foolish.

15 So I am always ready to preach the Good News to you who live in Rome.

There is no other good news

6 Not long ago, God called you to be his followers. God called you by the grace of Christ. But I am very surprised at you people because you are turning to a different gospel.
Galatians 1: 6

7 There is no other true gospel, but some people are putting you in a quandary. They want to change the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Galatians 1: 7

8 We preached the gospel to you. So if we ourselves or an angel from heaven preaches to you a different kind of gospel, you should despise it.
Galatians 1: 8

9 I have said this before, and now I say again that you have already accepted the true gospel. Anyone who tells you any other way of salvation should be condemned.
Galatians 1: 9

10 Do you now think that I am trying to get people to accept me? No God is the one I am trying to please. Am I trying to please people? If I wanted to please people, I would not be a servant of Jesus Christ.
Galatians 1:10

Walking in the light

5 We have heard the true teaching from God. Now we tell you this; God is light. There is no darkness in God.
1 John 1: 5

6 Therefore if we say that we have fellowship with God, and keep on living in darkness, we are liars and do not tell the truth.
1 John 1: 6

7 God is light. We too must live in the light. If we live in the light, we keep company with each other, if we live in the light. Jesus’ blood cleanses us from all sin.
1 John 1: 7

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1 John 1: 8

9 But if we confess our sins, God will forgive us. We can trust God. He does what is right. He will forgive all the wrong things we have done.
1 John 1: 9

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar. We are not following God’s teachings.
1 John 1:10
