5 We have heard the true teaching from God. Now we tell you this; God is light. There is no darkness in God.
1 John 1: 5
6 Therefore if we say that we have fellowship with God, and keep on living in darkness, we are liars and do not tell the truth.
1 John 1: 6
7 God is light. We too must live in the light. If we live in the light, we keep company with each other, if we live in the light. Jesus’ blood cleanses us from all sin.
1 John 1: 7
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1 John 1: 8
9 But if we confess our sins, God will forgive us. We can trust God. He does what is right. He will forgive all the wrong things we have done.
1 John 1: 9
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar. We are not following God’s teachings.
1 John 1:10
Lack of faith in Israel
30 So what did all this mean? This means that; Gentiles who were not trying to be righteous were made righteous. They became righteous because of their faith.
Romans 9:30
31 And the children of Israel did obey the law, that they might be justified.
Romans 9:31
32 Why? Because they were trying to be righteous by their actions, not by faith. They stumble on the rocks that cause people to stumble.
Romans 9:32
33 The Scriptures say of this stone, “Behold, I lay in Zion a stone that will make people stumble, and it is a rock that causes people to sin. ”
Romans 9:33
Ensure God’s promise
13 God made a promise to Abraham. As there was no one greater than God, he used his own name to swear that he would do what he promised.
Hebrews 6:13
14 God said, “I really bless you. I will give you many children. ”
Hebrews 6:14
15 Abraham waited patiently for Abraham, and later he received what God had promised him.
Hebrews 6:15
16 When people swear, they always use someone greater than themselves. This oath is proof of the fact that everything they say is true and there is an end to all arguments.
Hebrews 6:16
17 God wanted his promise to be true. God wanted this proof for those who were about to receive His promise. He wanted the people to understand clearly that he would not change his plans. So what God said will happen, he made it an oath.
Hebrews 6:17
18 These two things will never change. Whenever God says something, he does not lie and when he speaks, he will never lie. So we have run to God for safety. This has given us great comfort. Both of these things give us comfort and strength, so that we can continue the hope that God gave us.
Hebrews 6:18
19 We have the right to this hope. And it is like a langar. It is strong and reliable and is a protection for our soul. The holiest place behind the curtain goes to the heavenly temple.
Hebrews 6:19
20 Jesus has already entered there and opened the way for us. Jesus has become a high priest like Melchizedek forever.
Hebrews 6:20
