1 In the past, God spoke to our ancestors through prophets. God spoke to them.
Hebrews 1: 1
2 And now in these last days God has spoken to us again. God has spoken to us through his Son. God created the whole world through his Son. God made it through his Son. God chose his Son to be the heir of all things.

3 The Son represents the glory of God. He is the perfect imitation of God’s nature. The Son binds everything by His mighty command. The Son cleansed the people from their sins. Then he sat down at the right hand of the Great One who lives in heaven.

4 God gave him a name greater than any angel’s name. And he became even greater than the angel.

That is why God created us. And he has given us a soul as a guarantee that he will give us this new life. 2 Corinthians 5: 5

1 We know that this tabernacle, that is, our body on earth, where we live, will be destroyed. But when that happens, God will give us a home to live in. This house will not be man-made. This house will be in heaven which is eternal.

2 But now we are tired of this physical body. We desperately want to cover ourselves with our heavenly home.

3 It will cover us, and we will not be naked.

4 As long as we live in this tent, we have problems and we complain. I do not mean that we want to get rid of this tent, but we want to be right with our heavenly tent. Then this dying body will be completely filled with life.

5 That is why God created us. And he has given us a soul as a guarantee that he will give us this new life.

6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that we are far from the Lord as long as we live in this body.

7 We live with what we believe in, not what we see.

8 That is why I say we believe. And we really want to leave this body and live in the presence of the Lord.

9 Our only goal is to please God. Wherever we are, whether we are here in the body or there with the Lord, our desire is to please Him.

10 We must all stand before Christ for judgment. Everyone will receive what he deserves. Whatever he did while living in this physical body, whether it was good or bad.

Keep moving forward towards God

12 I do not mean that I have already become exactly as God intended me to be. I haven’t reached the goal yet. But I am constantly struggling to reach that goal. That is why Christ Jesus made me his own.

13 Brothers and sisters, I know that I have not yet reached my destination. But there is one thing I always do; I have forgotten the past and I am trying hard to reach the destination that is in front of me.

14 I am constantly striving to reach my destination and win the prize for which God is calling us to heaven through Christ Jesus.

15 All of us who have grown up spiritually should think the same way. But if you do not agree with any of these, God will make it clear to you.

17 Brothers and sisters, follow my example. Observe the people who follow our example closely. As we show you the way. Follow them, too.

18 Many people live like enemies of the cross of Christ. I have told you many times about such people. And now as I talk about them, I start to cry.

19 The way they live is the way that leads to destruction. Their hunger is their God. They are proud of the things they should be ashamed of. They think only of worldly things.

20 But our homeland is in heaven. We are waiting for our Savior to come down from heaven. Our Savior is the Lord Jesus Christ.

21 Christ will change our physical bodies like his glorious body. He will do this with the power by which he is able to control everything.
