The true knowledge of God

6 We also teach wisdom to those who are spiritually mature, but that wisdom does not belong to this world. This is not the wisdom of the rulers of this world. The wisdom of those rulers is being destroyed.
1 Corinthians 2: 6

7 But we are talking about the secret wisdom of God. This wisdom is hidden from the people. God has planned this wisdom for our glory. He planned it before the creation of the world.
1 Corinthians 2: 7

8 None of the rulers of this world has understood this wisdom. If they had understood, they would not have crucified the glorious Lord.
1 Corinthians 2: 8

9 But as it is written, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no man has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”
1 Corinthians 2: 9

10 But God hath shewed these things unto us by the Spirit; and the Holy Ghost knoweth all things, the secret of God.
1 Corinthians 2:10

11 It is like this. No one knows another’s thoughts. In a man only the soul knows his thoughts. So it is with God. No one knows the thoughts of God. Only God’s Spirit knows those thoughts.
1 Corinthians 2:11

12 We have not received the spirit of the world. But we have received the Spirit from God. We have received this Spirit so that we may know the blessings that God has given us without price.
1 Corinthians 2:12

13 When we talk about these things, we do not use the words that have been taught to us by human wisdom. We use spiritual words to describe spiritual things.
1 Corinthians 2:13

14 He that is without spirit cannot understand the things that come of the Spirit of God. He thinks those things are foolish. Such a person cannot understand the things of the soul because such things can only be understood spiritually.
1 Corinthians 2:14

15 But the spiritual man is able to judge all things. As the Scriptures say, other people cannot test such a person.
1 Corinthians 2:15

16 “Who knows the mind of the Lord? Who can tell the Lord what to do?” But for you, you have the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:16

Spiritual gifts

1 Now, brothers and sisters, I want you to know about spiritual gifts.
1 Corinthians 12: 1

2 You know about the lives of the people before you became believers. You yourself were blindly drawn to the worship of lifeless idols.
1 Corinthians 12: 2

3 Therefore I tell you, everyone who speaks with the Spirit of God. It does not say, “Cursed be Jesus Christ.” And no one can say, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ without the help of the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 12: 3

4 There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but they are all from the same Spirit.
1 Corinthians 12: 4

5 There are many ways to serve; But all these ways are from the same Lord.
1 Corinthians 12: 5

6 And there are also many ways in which God works with people. But all these ways are from the same Lord. God does all the work in us.
1 Corinthians 12: 6

7 The work of the Spirit can be seen in every human being. The Spirit gives us this gift to help other people.
1 Corinthians 12: 7

8 The Spirit gives this gift to a person to speak the language of wisdom. And that same soul gives the gift of speaking with wisdom.
1 Corinthians 12: 8

9 The same Spirit gives faith to a person. And the same Spirit gives a person the gift of healing.
1 Corinthians 12: 9

10 Gives another person the gift of performing miracles, and gives another person the ability to prophesy, and another person the ability to distinguish between good and evil spirits. The Spirit gives a person the power to speak different kinds of languages, and gives another person the power to interpret those languages.
1 Corinthians 12:10

11 The same Spirit does all these things. The soul decides what to give to each person.
1 Corinthians 12:11

The priesthood of Melchizedek

1 Melchizedek was the king of Salem and the priest of the Most High God. While Abraham was returning from defeating the kings, Melchizedek met Abraham. That day Melchizedek blessed Abraham.
Hebrews 7: 1

2 And Abraham gave tithes of all that he had unto Melchizedek. First, Melchizedek means “King of Goodness,” and “King of Salem” means “King of Peace.”
Hebrews 7: 2

3 “No one knows who Melchizedek’s parents are or where he came from.” And no one knows when he was born or when he died. Melchizedek was like a son of God, and he continues to be a priest forever.
Hebrews 7: 3

4 You can see that Melchizedek was great. Abraham, a great father, gave Melchizedek one-tenth of everything he won in battle.
Hebrews 7: 4

5 Now the law says that the people who become priests from the family of Levi should get tithes from the people. The priests collect it from their people, even though the priests and those people were from Abraham’s family.
Hebrews 7: 5

6 Melchizedek was not from the family of Levi. But he received tithes from Abraham. And he blessed Abraham – the man who had God’s promises.
Hebrews 7: 6

7 And everyone knows that the more important person blesses the less important person.
Hebrews 7: 7

8 These priests receive tithes, but they are human, living and dying. But Melchizedek, who received tithes from Abraham, lives forever according to the Scriptures.
Hebrews 7: 8

9 This is the Levite who collects tithes from the people. But we can say that when Abraham gave tithes to Melchizedek, the Levites also gave tithes to him.
Hebrews 7: 9

10 Levi was not yet born. But when Melchizedek met Abraham, Levi was still in the body of his ancestor Abraham.
Hebrews 7:10
