Of the resurrection

35 But one may ask, “How do the dead rise to life? What kind of body will they have? ”
1 Corinthians 15:35

36 These questions are foolish. When you plant something, it must die in the ground before it can live and grow.
1 Corinthians 15:36

37 And when you sow, it does not have the body it receives. Whatever you sow, be it a grain of wheat or a grain of another crop, it is only the seed you have received.
1 Corinthians 15:37

38 But God gives to the seed the body which he (God) desires, and God gives to the seed his body.
1 Corinthians 15:38

39 The flesh of all living things is not the same. Human flesh is one of a kind. Other types of animal meat. And the flesh of birds of any kind. And the flesh of the fish is very different.
1 Corinthians 15:39

40 There are also bodies in the heavens and physical bodies on the earth. But the beauty of the heavenly bodies is the same. The beauty of physical bodies is different.
1 Corinthians 15:40

41 The beauty of the sun is one kind, the beauty of the moon is another, and the beauty of the stars is another. And each star is different in its beauty.
1 Corinthians 15:41

42 It is the same with those who have been raised from the dead. The body that is sown will burn. But the body that has been raised to life cannot be destroyed.
1 Corinthians 15:42

43 When the body is “sown,” it has no respect. But it is raised in glory. When the body is “sown,” it is weak, but when life is raised, it is strong.
1 Corinthians 15:43

44 The body that is sown is the physical body. When this life is raised, it is a spiritual body. Just as there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual body.
1 Corinthians 15:44

45 It is written, “The first man became a living being,” but the last man became a spirit that gives life.
1 Corinthians 15:45

46 The spiritual man did not come first. It was the physical human that came first. Then came the spiritual man.
1 Corinthians 15:46

47 The first man was made of the dust of the earth, the second man was made of the sky.
1 Corinthians 15:47

48 people are from the earth. They are like the first humans on earth. But those who belong to heaven are like the people in heaven.
1 Corinthians 15:48

49 We were made like humans on earth. So we too will be made like the humans in heaven.
1 Corinthians 15:49

50 Brothers and sisters, I tell you this; Flesh and blood cannot be part of God’s Kingdom. A perishable thing can never be combined with an immortal thing.
1 Corinthians 15:50

51 But listen, I tell you this secret. We will not all die but we will all change.
1 Corinthians 15:51

52 It will only take a moment. We will change in the twinkling of an eye. That is when the last trumpet will sound. The trumpet will be blown and the believers who have died will be resurrected. Some will get bodies that cannot be destroyed.
1 Corinthians 15:52

53 For this perishable body will be clothed with incorruptible flesh. And the body that dies is given a body that does not die.
1 Corinthians 15:53

54 Therefore when the corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be the saying of the scriptures fulfilled: Death is defeated in victory.
1 Corinthians 15:54

55 “Death, where is your victory? Grave, where is your power to hurt? ”
1 Corinthians 15:55

56 The power to cause death is sin. And the power of sin is the law.
1 Corinthians 15:56

57 But we are thankful to God. He gives victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:57

58 So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong. Don’t allow anything to change you. Always devote yourself completely to the Lord’s work. You know that whatever you do in the Lord will not be in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:58

Christ is the divine power of God

18 The message of the cross seems foolish to those who are lost, but to those who are saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18

19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will make the wisdom of the wise vain.
1 Corinthians 1:19

1 Corinthians 1:20

21 This is what God wanted with his wisdom; The world did not know God by its wisdom. That is why God used a message that seems foolish to save those who believe in it.
1 Corinthians 1:21

22 The Jews demand miracles as proof. The Greeks demanded wisdom.
1 Corinthians 1:22

23 But this is the message that we preach; Christ died on the cross. This is a big problem for the Jews. And to the non-Jews this seems foolish.
1 Corinthians 1:23

24 But unto the elect, both Jews and Greeks, and Christ, the power of God, and the wisdom of God;
1 Corinthians 1:24

25 The foolishness of God is far wiser than the wisdom of men. God’s weakness is also stronger than man’s.
1 Corinthians 1:25

26 Brothers and sisters, God has chosen you. Think about it. Many of you were not wise in the world. As the world judges wisdom. Most of you are not even influential. Most of you were not even from important families.
1 Corinthians 1:26

27 But God hath known the foolishness of the world, to put them to shame. God chose the weakest people in the world to shame the wise.
1 Corinthians 1:27

28 And God chose those whom the world careth not. He chooses people who are hated by the world and think they are useless. God chose them to destroy what the world valued.
1 Corinthians 1:28

29 God did this so that no one could boast before him.
1 Corinthians 1:29

30 God made you members of Christ Jesus. Christ is God-given wisdom for us. By Christ we are justified with God, and free from our sins. We are holy because of Christ.

16 I tell you again, Let no one think I am a fool. But if you think I am a fool, then accept me as a fool. Then I too will be able to boast a little.
2 Corinthians 11:16

17 I boast because I am confident. But I am not speaking as the Lord can speak. I brag like a fool.
2 Corinthians 11:17

18 Many people in the world brag about their lives. That is why I will brag.
2 Corinthians 11:18

19 You are wise, so you will gladly take care of fools.
2 Corinthians 11:19

24 The Jews punished me five times with 39 lashes.
2 Corinthians 11:24

25 At three different times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was in ships that wrecked, and on one of those occasions I spent a night and a day at sea.
2 Corinthians 11:25

26 I have undertaken many short journeys. I was threatened by rivers, bandits, my allies, and non-Jews. I was in danger in the cities and in places where no one lives, and even at sea. And I am also in danger with those who say they are brothers but are not really brothers.
2 Corinthians 11:26

27 I have also done hard and tiring work. I went to sleep many times. I felt hungry and thirsty. Most of the time I didn’t have food to eat. I am cold without clothes.
2 Corinthians 11:27

28 And there are many other problems. One of these is caring for all my churches. I worry about them every day.
2 Corinthians 11:28

29 When someone else is weak, I also feel weak. When someone is tempted to sin, I also get upset.
2 Corinthians 11:29
