Advice to young People

My son, do not forget my teaching, but follow my commandments with all your heart.

Because by doing this you will live longer and live longer, and you will live in peace.

Let not mercy and truth be separated from thee, but thou shalt make them thy necklace, and write them upon the tablet of thy heart,

Then thou shalt find favor and goodwill in the sight of God and of men.

Trust in Jehovah with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.

Remember him in all your ways, and he will direct your paths.

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

This will make your body healthy and your bones strong.

Bless the LORD with all your substance, and with the firstfruits of all your fruit.

Then your fields will be full of produce, and your vineyards will overflow with new juice.

My son, do not despise the Lord’s rebuke, and do not despise him when he rebukes you.

For the LORD chasteneth him that loveth him, even as the Father the son in whom he delighteth.

Blessed is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

For the gain thereof is better than the gain thereof, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

They are more precious than diamonds, and none of the things you desire are like them.

Longevity is in his right hand, and in his left hand is wealth and honor.

His ways are pleasing, and all his ways are peace.

He that receiveth it is a tree of life: and he that holdeth it shall rejoice.

By wisdom the LORD founded the earth, and by understanding he established the heavens.

With his knowledge the depths are broken, and the dew falls from the clouds.

O my son, preserve wisdom and discretion, and let them not be hid from thine eyes.

Then they will give you life and adorn your neck.

Then you will walk in your way without fear, and your foot will not stumble.

When you lie down, you will not be afraid; yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet.

Do not be afraid of sudden fear, nor of calamity befalling the wicked.

For the LORD shall be thy hope, and he shall keep thy foot out of the snare.

If it is possible for you, do not stop doing good to those who are entitled to it.

If you have, don’t tell your neighbor to go and come again, and I’ll give it to you tomorrow.

When thy neighbor dwelleth securely with thee, thou shalt not do evil to him.

Do not argue with anyone who has not done you any harm.

Do not imitate a tyrant, nor follow any of his words.

For the abomination of the LORD is an abomination to the LORD: but the righteousness of the LORD is his delight.

The curse of the LORD is upon the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the righteous.

He scoffs at those who truly mock, but he shows favor to the humble.

The wise will inherit honor, but the foolish will prosper.
