False renunciation – austerities

1 The Holy Spirit clearly says that in the future some people will reject the true faith. They will listen to the spirits that lie, and they will follow the teachings of demons.
1 Timothy 4: 1

2 Those teachings come from people who are liars and hypocrites. They have lost the ability to distinguish between right and wrong. It is as if their inner soul has been burned with hot iron.
1 Timothy 4: 2

3 They tell others that getting married is wrong. And they say unto them, There are some things that men ought not to eat: but whosoever believeth and knoweth the truth, they shall eat the bread with thanksgiving, for it is God which hath made them.
1 Timothy 4: 3

4 Everything that God has made is good. Nothing God-made should be rejected if it is taken with thanksgiving.
1 Timothy 4: 4

5 Everything made by God is sanctified by God’s word and prayer.
1 Timothy 4: 5

Be steadfast

13 But, brethren, beloved of the Lord, we ought to give thanks unto you continually, because God hath chosen you from the beginning, that ye should be saved through the Spirit, and through faith in the truth.

14 For unto whom he hath called us through the gospel, that we might receive the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15 Wherefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold fast all the things which ye have learned, whether by word, or by letter.

16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who hath loved us, and hath given us grace and eternal hope,

17 May he give you peace of mind and strengthen you in every good work and word.

12 These people are like ugly stains on your special festivals. They eat with you without shame. They only care about themselves. They are like clouds without rain and blown away by the wind. They are fruitless trees, and in time they are uprooted. So they die a double death.
Jude 1:12

13 They are like the stormy waves of the sea. Which form foam. They talk as shamefully as waves make foam. These people are like the stars that move in the sky. There is a place for these people in the dark.
