Exhortation and exhortation

2 I beseech Euodia, and beseech Syntyche, to agree with one another, because ye are of God.
Philippians 4: 2

3 My friends, because you have served me faithfully, I ask you to help these women. They have worked hard with Clement to spread the gospel on my behalf and with my colleagues. Their names are written in the book of life.

7 God’s peace is too great for us to comprehend. But that peace will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

8 Brothers and sisters, pay attention to the things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovable, and praiseworthy. Always think of things that are excellent and praiseworthy.

9 Do the things you learned and received from me. Do the things you heard from me and the things you saw me do. The God of peace will be with you.

Walking in the light

5 We have heard the true teaching from God. Now we tell you this; God is light. There is no darkness in God.
1 John 1: 5

6 Therefore if we say that we have fellowship with God, and keep on living in darkness, we are liars and do not tell the truth.

7 God is light. We too must live in the light. If we live in the light, we keep company with each other, if we live in the light. Jesus’ blood cleanses us from all sin.
1 John 1: 7

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1 John 1: 8

9 But if we confess our sins, God will forgive us. We can trust God. He does what is right. He will forgive all the wrong things we have done.
1 John 1: 9

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar. We are not following God’s teachings.
1 John 1:10

Lack of faith in Israel

30 So what did all this mean? This means that; Gentiles who were not trying to be righteous were made righteous. They became righteous because of their faith.
Romans 9:30

31 And the children of Israel did obey the law, that they might be justified.
Romans 9:31

32 Why? Because they were trying to be righteous by their actions, not by faith. They stumble on the rocks that cause people to stumble.
Romans 9:32

33 The Scriptures say of this stone, “Behold, I lay in Zion a stone that will make people stumble, and it is a rock that causes people to sin. ”
