God’s anointed King

For what are the nations punished, and why do the nations think in vain?

The kings of the earth stand up against the Lord and his Christ, and the rulers make peace among themselves.

Let us break their bonds, and let us loose their ropes.

He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: and the Lord shall mock them.

Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and in his wrath will cause them to stumble.

But I have set my king on my city of Jerusalem, the holy mountain of Zion.

I will preach the word, and the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son, to thee have I begotten this day.

Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, and the ends of the earth your property.

Thou shalt break them with an iron rod, thou shalt crush them as with a potter’s vessel.

Now therefore, O kings, be wise, and understand, O judges of the earth.

Serve Jehovah with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

Kiss your son lest he be angry with you, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is kindled quickly. Blessed are those who take refuge in Him.
