
1 Therefore rejoice in the Lord, brethren. It doesn’t bother me to write these things over and over again. These will help you to be more prepared.

2 Beware of those who commit adultery. They are like dogs. They ask for the body to be cut off.

3 But we are truly circumcised. We worship God through his Spirit and put our faith in Christ Jesus instead of in ourselves.

4 Although I can put my trust in myself, I do not. If anyone thinks he can put his trust in himself, then I have more reasons to put my trust in him.

5 I was circumcised on the eighth day. I am from the tribe of Benjamin. I am a Jew and my parents were Jewish. The law of Moses was very important to me, so I became a Pharisee.
Philippians 3: 5
6 I was very zealous about my Judaism. So I punished the congregation. I carefully observed the law of Moses, and no one was found guilty of obeying my law.

7 But all things which once were important to me, these I declare to be vain in Christ.

8 For even greater things I do to this day, because of the excellency of my Lord Jesus Christ. That is why I have given up everything. And I have come to think that everything is false so that I can have Christ.
Philippians 3: 8
9 It helps me to be righteous in Christ. This righteousness does not come from obeying the law, but from faith. God justifies me through my faith in Christ.

10 What I want to know is Christ and the power that raised him from the dead. I want to be a partaker of Christ’s sufferings and be like him in his death.

11 In this way, I hope to be among those who will be raised from the dead.
